The Buccaneer has been thoughtfully expanded over the years, and the additions all incorporate some of the features (for example, the characteristic arches) of the main building. Rooms were recently renovated, fabulously clean, and spacious. The food is far better than the usual in the region's hotels, although expensive. The price includes an expansive and good breakfast buffet and a terrific kid's camp, where the little ones learn skills like lizard-catching and taming. The camp runs daily from 9:30 to 5:30, but the Staff were very flexible about permitting drop-in uses. In addition, there are free watersports and floats off the Buccaneer's beautiful, broad,white-sand beaches. For an extra (reasonable) fee, you can play tennis on one of its 8 courts, or play a round of golf on an aerobically challenging (that is, hilly) course. If you need serious nightlife with your vacation, this is not your hotel. It is a wonderfully quiet spot, with some gentle evening entertainment which usually concludes by 10:30. A very uncrowded, happy experience with dignified, pleasant and eager to please staff.
